Nice story! LUSH, who makes vegetarian/vegan cosmetics and body products, is populated by mostly meat-eaters, but the whole company has agreed to go vegan tomorrow in honor of World Vegan Day. Sounds like an awfully good plan to me :)
Last year I blogged about shifting to vegan for a day from my normal vegetarianism.
This year I'm on Day 41 of an ongoing such shift.
I always say that my initial conversion to vegetarianism was a one-day-at-a-time transition. I was prepared to give it a good try, but not look too far ahead and not be too discouraged if it didn't work out. 17 years later that approach seems to have payed off.
I'm merely suggesting that if you've considered making a change, trying it for one day, say, today, is a good way to get started.
The Wolrd Vegan Day site is quite focused on the environmental impact, but as I state here, that's never been my number one concern.
Whether it's the environment, animal welfare, physical health, or any other reason, why don't you join me for one hippy-dippy, bleeding heart day and give some kind of veg*nism a try?
Which reminds me: didn't it used to be just World Vegetarian Day, the Great American Meat-Out...does anyone else remember that? Or is that a different day? And if not, then is it really a wise decision to up the ante right to veganism?
Just wondering.
