Day 36: Good night Seattle!
Sorry I missed a day in my daily posting. I was slammed with an allergy attack immediately upon my return home, and didn't have the energy (despite a brain teeming with blog post-y information) to commandeer the keyboard as I should have. Yesterday I headed home, after snagging an earlier flight, and said goodbye to a lovely time in a lovely city, Seattle.
Luckily in the car on the way to the airport I finally caught a glimpse of Mount Rainier, which towers over the city, but is often hidden by fog and/or clouds. Although the peak was out for us to see it was shrouded in clouds and had a dream-like quality in the blue and pink sky.
After an uneventful flight I got home to find the S.O. had ordered Indian food, so I chowed down pretty well.
Breakfast:
Black Coffee
Banana
Lunch:
Lemonade
Sourdough Roll
Greens with Vinaigrette
White Rice (no butter, I checked)
Thai Noodles
Couscous
Fresh Fruit
Snack (at the airport and on the plane):
Odwalla Soy Smart Beverage
Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips
Snack Mix on plane (Non-Vegan ingredient alert: there was honey in the honey-roasted nuts in thsi mix.)
Dinner (ordered from Amber India):
Yukon Potatoes and Snow Peas
Spicy Vegetables
We can order with Amber India with some confidence after a long phone conversation I had with the restaurant last time, where they told me exactly which items on the menu I could order that were vegan.)
So, yeah, the small number of honey-roasted nuts were a mistake. It continues to not be an unconscious process for me to eat vegan. I still have to catch myself and remind myself to check ingredients...and sometimes I remember a bit too late, like after soething's already in my mouth.
Ah well.
