Day 35: Seattle loves vegans
Seattle loves it its vegans. Not because
I've been to vegan restaurants, nope, but because when the non-vegans
restaurants find out about your (potentially aggravating) veganism,
they take it in stride and find delicious ways to accommodate you.
So, thanks to Jonathan, the wonderful, warm waiter at Fish Club (and yes, seafood restaurants are sometimes even worse than steakhouses for a vegetarian) and Mike, the chef there who created a fantastic oven-roasted vegetable dish that arrived at the table in a beautiful tagine. Even the catering at this Bell Harbor Conference Center is remarkably vegan-sensitive. So, I have a whole new appreciation for this town...and I would say it's been kinder to me than the restaurants and catering departments at a lot of other cities in the US that I've been to lately.
Breakfast:
Soy Latte
Watermelon/Grapes/Pineapple
Lunch:
Green Salad (this time no parmesan)
Vinaigrette
Beets
Sourdough Roll
Fresh Fruit
Potato Chips
Smarties (yes, the candy...this conference center is hooke up with cool snacks.)
Snack:
Diet Coke
Edamame
Asian Cabbage and Noodles
Veggie eggroll and pot sticker
Dinner:
Roasted Vegetables (Mushrooms, onions, garlic, asparagus, baby carrots etc.)
