Yes, I decided to make a salad for lunch, after having it pointed out to me that I do eat very few green vegetables :)
This was quickly balanced by the fact that I had a non-vegan moment. The S.O. discovered that you can go to the M&Ms site and order M&Ms with customized messages on them. He thought that was the coolest thing ever andordered a bunch with phrases from Star Trek on them. (You've gathered by now that we're geeks, right?) Yesterday, during a moment of frustration totally unrelated to food, I turned to food to make me feel better. Yes, the open bag of M&Ms taunting me on the dining room table was too much, and I grabbed a handful. Did it actually make me feel better? well, yes and no. They were tasty. Chocolate probably does really make us feel better. he had bought them, so it didn't really violate my "economic vote" philosophy. BUT, of course, not really, because they're not vegan, and I'm supposed to be a vegan, damnit.
Then, Last night I went to a mixer in honor of a local non-profit organization. I was kind of hoping there would be something there for me to eat, given the time of the shin-dig was 6-8PM, right in my dinner eating sweet spot. No such luck. I snagged some grapes and a couple slices of mini sourdough bread. But you know what that means don't you? Driving home after 8PM, pretty hungry, unable to imagine what meal I'd pull together from supplies on hand and, therefore, stopping off and picking up something fast and not-so-great.
The day started with such promise...sigh.
